Dan Clark Basketball Camps returns in 2018 for another memorable year at the University of East London Sports Dock.
This is a day camp easily accessible by London public transport.

A Week of Nothing But the Game

DCB Camp is for Boys and Girls aged between 11-18. The camp is aimed at young people who wish to improve both their individual and team skills. Through practice, drills, workshops  and games players will develop their overall understanding of the game. Campers will practice and play in groups relative to their age/ability.

As well as developing their basketball skills campers will learn about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle, working as a member of a team and making good deisions in life. The week will be fun and filled with memorable moments.

The Venue

The 5th annual DCB camp will again be taking place at the University of East London Sports Dock. This state of the art facility was used by the USA Olympic Basketball Team as a training facility during the London 2012 Olympic Games.

 

Coaches

Luis Guill

Spanish National Coach, Fuenlabrada / Murcia, ACB

Camp Director Luis is one of the leading youth team coaches in Spain. Having won numerous European Championships at all age groups whilst helping the likes of Ricky Rubio and Sergio Rodriguez develop there talents. Luis currently coaches in Venezuela where he has been named coach of the year. He has also coached in the Spanish ACB at Fuenlabrada, Murcia and Zaragoza as well as currently being assistant coach on the Spanish national team .

German Gabriel

Euroleague, Spain National Team

A veteran european player with 18 years of playing under his belt. Playing at the highest level both domestically and internationally for numerous Euroleague clubs and the Spanish national team with whom he won the Bronze medal at Eurobasket 2013 in Slovenia as well as the 1999 Junior World Championships with Spain beating USA in the final. Since retiring last year he has moved into the coaching world and this season formed part of the Iowa Energy coaching staff in the NBA D-League.

Diana Naydenova

Euroleague and International Player 20+ years

Diana is a former European basketball player who has played at the highest level for over 20 years playing in Italy, Croatia, Hungary aswell as her native Bulgaria. She has represented her country over 100 times and today carries on her long carrer with Barking Abbey in the WBBL. She also dedicates herslef to passing on her knowledge to the younger generations through her work with Greenhouse Sports, a London based charity..

Tope Alli-Balogun

Barking Abbey Academy

Tope is another coach who has formed part of the DCB coaching staff since day 1. Currently an assistant on the WBBL coaching staff as well as leading the UEL womens basketball team in the BUCS championships. Tope is the definition of a student of the game and has a world of knowledge he is eager to pass on to the campers.

Aurimas Verbukas

Manchester Magic

Aurimus Verbukas aka Coach Ollie has been a huge part of the Dan Clark Basketball Camps since day 1. A favourite amongst the campers Coach Ollie is a coach at the nationally renowned Manchester Magic leading them to great success. The Lithuanian born coach has vast experience working with many international level players both from the UK and other nationalities. Currently coaches wales U16 program.

FAQs

Will there be people qualified in First Aid?

Yes, we have a trained first-aider on the staff at the camp. In addition, duty staff at UEL are also qualified first aiders

How will I know if my son/daughter arrived at camp?

Please ask your child to call you on arrival at camp, if your child does not have a mobile phone we will be able to make a call to let you know that they have arrived.

What standard does the camp cater for?

Dan Clark Basketball welcomes players of all abilities. Groups are initially broken up into age based groups but are changed until the coaches feel comfortable that every camper is playing with campers of their own ability.

What can I expect to be doing on a daily basis?

Each full day at camp includes fundamental skill stations, team coaching, camp tournaments 1v1, 3v3, 5v5 and many more competitions throughout the week.

What can I do to prepare myself for camp?

Develop your fitness before camp, do not wear new basketball shoes for the first time at camp. (major cause of blisters)

Can I come and watch my child?

Coaches and parents can come along to watch at any time. Please note that taking photographs or recording video is not allowed.

Will there be camp awards?

Yes, awards will be presented before the close of camp on Friday.

Is the payment refundable?

Please see our cancellation policy on the ‘sign up’ page of the website danclarkcamp.com Cancellations more than 28 days before the start of camp are eligible for a full refund (less £5.00 admin fee).

Am I allowed to bring a mobile phone, camera or other valuable items?

We understand that many campers will have a mobile phone at camp. However, we strongly recommend that other valuable items are left at home. Please note that we will not be held responsible for any items that are lost or stolen. Such items are brought to camp at your own risk!
